Down the highway

When I first arrived in Second Life back in 2007, I spent a lot of time hanging out in biker sims, listening to music and trying out different bikes all the time. One of my first was an HDCC bike with a really long rake. I loved it, especially its hover capability. When engaged, the wheels would flip and go horizontal, spinning with the roar of a turbine engine, and my motorcycle would become a tripped out flying craft.

I liked virtual riding so much that when I built my first SL home, I ensured that it had a garage, where I would constantly tinker with new bikes. I still enjoy tinkering, and yo, I still enjoy the ride.

So Mighty an Aphrodite

In my many SL travels, I always appreciate a well executed design. Such as I found while virtually bouncing around the other day. A modern day Venus, created by Bethi Catteneo. Unlike what remains of Alexandros' version, this Aphrodite has arms. I wish I could post a full view of the work, but "blogger" restrictions apply. I purchased it at her shop in-world, but you might find more information at her Marketplace store.


Bethi's creations are definitely worth a second look, as my avatar will attest. I couldn't help but stare, because the statue is so amazingly real.

Three AM at Izzie's

I was up late; just couldn’t sleep. So I decided to give the ol’ avatar some mesh feet from Slink. I mean, why not? Bare feet certainly makes sense: it’s only 10 degrees wind chill outside. Nuthin better to do, right? So it gets to be like, 3 AM, and I am still messing with RGB values. Nah - tinting the feet to match my skin is not that hard to do. But my brain was in a fog. Then my friend Selim gives me an IM out of the blue. Turns out she woke up in the middle of the night and popped online to do a little window shopping. So I headed over to where she was, with my bare feet and all, to a place called Izzie’s. The music in the store was set to some kind of German or Danish station (judging from the occasional ads in between songs), evidently a house/party mix/pop/dance music stream, so I couldn’t resist breaking out some of the 100s of old dances in my inventory, along with a mesh long sleeve tee-shirt from Scars (with a quintessential black leopard design on it - definitely 80s-ish), all topped off by what I call my “Bob Seger” hair, from Dura. After all, we had the whole place to ourselves.

I mean, why not?
